Coupon Cutter

I finally did it. I spent $41.11 & saved $49.85!! I should have saved $4.50 more but my Publix no longer takes competitor coupons other than Kroger. Boo. So, here's what we got...2 cans of pringles

2 jars of pickles
2 Marie's salad dressings
2 butter spreads
2 bbq sauces
2 deli meats
2 loafs of bread
2 packs of hotdogs
2 Frosted Flakes cereals
1 Froot Loop cereal
1 box wheat thins
1 Velveeta cheese
2 sausage
2 cans of spaghetti sauce
2 boxes of Ritz crackers

I must admit, it was a lot easier once I was in the store. Here's the other plus; you are so hooked to your list that you don't pick up things you don't need! It's really exciting watching the screen deduct the balance with every scan of a coupon. Did I just say exciting? What has my life come to? Ha! Thanks to Christy who took my 25 phone calls/questions in preparation for the trip! Thanks to Brenda, Jenn, Christy & Hollie for teaching me your couponing ways! :)

Fireworks!

We loved our July 4th weekend! Some of our dear friends came in town & we took them to all our favorite places to eat & hang. We spent the weekend enjoying the gorgeous weather, relaxing & acting crazy with some of our favorite people! It was a weekend of favorites!

July 3rd we watched the fireworks show close to our house & heard a not so great Journey cover band. What is it about fireworks that just bring a smile?
Our fav adoptive girls spent the night with us to their parents could run the Peachtree. After popsicles at 11:30 PM we figured there was no better way to start the morning than with a bowl of Froot Loops! Is there really a better way to spoil? I think not!
Us
Cody led the group in the pledge & HHH led us in an operatic version of a patriotic song. This is a tradition. No onlooker would ever understand our antics! These 2 PK's are trouble when you get them together!
I don't even know where to start! T will be a mom in a few days! Cute!
Me & C. Yes, we matched.
Cody & Pastor P
T has an obsession with hotdogs. She gave all of us the play-by-play of Nathan's annual hotdog competition & then reenacted it!
Me, T, our wonderful hostess HZ, C, H & M. These are just a few of the girls.

Big thanks to H & C for hosting all our friends!! We had the best time & I will reiterate...There are NO words to describe the greatness that is our friends!

Don't quit your day job!

Since Sunday morning at 7, I've had 4 children. Yep. That's right. Me with 4 children & as if that wasn't enough of a challenge, Cody was in FL doing a student camp so I was a SINGLE mother of 4 for 7 days. Oh yeah! Before Cody left for the week, he came over to pay us a visit & get the kids totally wound up & bouncing off the walls. He & our band bud, Jason, decided they would start a "little" band. Little drums, little guitar, little piano & little musical talent (with the exception of Jason). Crazy! Mr. Deese, I love you but don't quit your day job!

The Man's Birthday

Cody's Birthday landed right at the end of Kids Camp week so me & all our pals were pretty beat from the craziness! Do you think that stopped us from celebrating? I think not! The Man (who is usually out of town doing a student camp on his day) only asked for 3 things...hint of lime nachos, jacks salsa & fresh cut watermelon. Really?!?! So, we took over the pizza joint like we owned the place then followed it up with girl chats & guys playing cards. He was super happy & loved his birthday nachos!

Mr. Deese, so happy to celebrate another year with you & happy this year we got to celebrate with all your buds! Love doing life with you! You make me laugh, stretch me to go deeper & I think we make a great team! I love you!

Boomerang Express!

All aboard!!! I love teaching/helping with Kids Camp! I guess I get it from my parents who had such a passion for VBS!! It was amazing to see all the kids who came out to join in on our fun! I'm so proud of VL & the leaps & bounds we've made over the past 3 years! I must say though, there is a down side...getting the songs stuck in your head. So, in case you didn't get enough of it...

Busy summer days

Our lives have been crazy busy the past few weeks. I spent a day in AL visiting our old pals/neighbors, S, A & A & I did the unthinkable...I went to the animal shelter! Yikes! Let me remind you, I am in NO way an "animal person". I am just now in the place where I will tolerate a dog &, trust me, that is not by choice. However great my dislike for animals & smelly shelters, I really love these cute kiddos so I couldn't resist taking them to pick up their new kitty, Tide. I'm happy to say I made the final decision on the name as it was between Tide & Bama. I can't believe how big these kids are & how beautiful! Miss them & love spending time with them!

Coupon Tutorial

I finally got all the coupons organized & my list is made for Publix & CVS. It was probably more of a pain this time around than it will be in the future (ya know, since I had no idea what I was doing)! Thank goodness I had my pal, Christy, to help me out!! She willingly came over to give a private tutorial & help me organize. Talk about true friendship!! I can't wait to see how much I'll save! I guess now this means I may actually have to cook or something.

Me & Christy (the coupon tutor). Of course, this was at the fair; a much more pleasurable time together!
