Don't quit your day job!

Since Sunday morning at 7, I've had 4 children. Yep. That's right. Me with 4 children & as if that wasn't enough of a challenge, Cody was in FL doing a student camp so I was a SINGLE mother of 4 for 7 days. Oh yeah! Before Cody left for the week, he came over to pay us a visit & get the kids totally wound up & bouncing off the walls. He & our band bud, Jason, decided they would start a "little" band. Little drums, little guitar, little piano & little musical talent (with the exception of Jason). Crazy! Mr. Deese, I love you but don't quit your day job!

The Man's Birthday

Cody's Birthday landed right at the end of Kids Camp week so me & all our pals were pretty beat from the craziness! Do you think that stopped us from celebrating? I think not! The Man (who is usually out of town doing a student camp on his day) only asked for 3 things...hint of lime nachos, jacks salsa & fresh cut watermelon. Really?!?! So, we took over the pizza joint like we owned the place then followed it up with girl chats & guys playing cards. He was super happy & loved his birthday nachos!

Mr. Deese, so happy to celebrate another year with you & happy this year we got to celebrate with all your buds! Love doing life with you! You make me laugh, stretch me to go deeper & I think we make a great team! I love you!

Boomerang Express!

All aboard!!! I love teaching/helping with Kids Camp! I guess I get it from my parents who had such a passion for VBS!! It was amazing to see all the kids who came out to join in on our fun! I'm so proud of VL & the leaps & bounds we've made over the past 3 years! I must say though, there is a down side...getting the songs stuck in your head. So, in case you didn't get enough of it...

Busy summer days

Our lives have been crazy busy the past few weeks. I spent a day in AL visiting our old pals/neighbors, S, A & A & I did the unthinkable...I went to the animal shelter! Yikes! Let me remind you, I am in NO way an "animal person". I am just now in the place where I will tolerate a dog &, trust me, that is not by choice. However great my dislike for animals & smelly shelters, I really love these cute kiddos so I couldn't resist taking them to pick up their new kitty, Tide. I'm happy to say I made the final decision on the name as it was between Tide & Bama. I can't believe how big these kids are & how beautiful! Miss them & love spending time with them!

Coupon Tutorial

I finally got all the coupons organized & my list is made for Publix & CVS. It was probably more of a pain this time around than it will be in the future (ya know, since I had no idea what I was doing)! Thank goodness I had my pal, Christy, to help me out!! She willingly came over to give a private tutorial & help me organize. Talk about true friendship!! I can't wait to see how much I'll save! I guess now this means I may actually have to cook or something.

Me & Christy (the coupon tutor). Of course, this was at the fair; a much more pleasurable time together!

Made in the USA

Tonight I did something that every parent has to do for Christmas & Birthday's...I assembled a child's toy. First, let me give a BIG shout-out to all the parents who brave these "limited assembly required" gifts. I hearby promise to never give a child one of these gifts as I now see it as a curse to the parent! Secondly, whoever makes these products is a big fat, money making fibber who hates parents & wants to see them die. Holes were not where they were supposed to be & in some cases, there was no hole at all which cased me to take extreme measures. Why you ask? Well, I went to hang with some of my adoptive children tonight & one of them had received the Princess Big Wheel for her birthday. When I saw the gift was still in the box, I thought "what are we waiting for? let's put this thing together"! My quick project turned into 2 hours!! Needless to say, by the time the Princess Big Wheel was complete, sweetie was already tucked in her bed so it looks like we will have to wait until tomorrow to see if the wheels fall off.

Look at that little girls smile. Looks so easy. Hey, it even includes "fairy decals"!
**Note: Easy to assemble. Made in USA**
The tool I ended up having to use!
Final product after 2 hours.

Coupon 101

Months ago, I wrote a blog all about the whole coupon craze because one of my moms friends was trying to give the run-down. Well, I listened to her "how to's", checked out the website she sent me to & left thinking it was too difficult & that it just wasn't worth it. Well, it wasn't long before a few of my best pals were all into EXTREME couponing! So, my wise coupon friends had a little (well, 40 people) tutorial to give us the 411. The savings are crazy! So, if you wonder where I am, I'm probably clipping coupons!!

Jen's coupon holder!!! OMG! This made me laugh hysterically & feel extremely overwhelmed all at the same time. She actually carries this to the grocery store! Still love her!
All the ladies who are gonna save some major $!

Sunday & Sundae

Cody & I love spending time at Marietta Square so we decided our final community group night should be there. We've really enjoyed getting to know each other since we started in Sept. & we have already started planning some dates to see each other during the summer. The weather was gorgeous which was nice for chatting outside & eating this...
Baby girl T (the only kid in our group)! Is she not the cutest?!?

6 years, baby!

Saturday, we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's already been 6 years. We had a happy weekend celebrating with gorgeous weather, time with friends & 2 hikes at Kennesaw Mtn. Of course the question everyone has been asking (for the past 6 years) is..."when are you having kids?" Well, the answer still remains, we are happy "just the two of us" right now. I must send another shout out to our friends, Aaron & Michelle for taking these remarkable images of us last summer. They are my favorite thing & I love the way they really captured Cody.

Mr. Deese, I love you to pieces! I couldn't ask for a better partner & friend to embark on this incredible journey!! I'm proud to be your wife. Happy 6 years!
